Craughwell railway station

Craughwell got its railway back. The village had a station from the middle of the nineteenth century on the Waterford, Limerick and Western line, lost it when passenger trains between Ennis and Athenry stopped in 1976, and gained a new one, a single platform with a car park close to the old site, when Iarnród Éireann reopened the line as the first phase of the Western Rail Corridor.

Using it

The station is unstaffed. Trains run between Galway and Limerick, calling at Athenry, Ardrahan and Gort on the Galway side and Ennis beyond; the Gort and Athenry station guides cover the connections. The model on this page pins the village and the Galway Blazers' country around it.
