Pupils take the Junior Certificate, Transition Year and the Leaving Certificate, including the vocational LCVP, with progress reported home four times a year. It is the only secondary school in Knocknacarra, a suburb partly inside the Gaeltacht with its own Irish-language centre, Áras Mhic Amhlaigh, since 2022.
